Eric Poll

Region Arnhem, Gelderland, North Limburg, North Brabant

Specialist: Labor disputes, Absenteeism

Role: Employment mediator

My Mediation Style

My approach is goal-oriented, pragmatic and structured. Mediation processes usually run a short and clear course: two to three joint talks of about two hours. In many cases clarity emerges even then: is there sufficient basis to continue together or should other routes be considered?

I provide a safe, neutral setting in which parties are given space to explore their positions, and guide them toward workable solutions. My knowledge of labor law, WvP and social insurance law is an important asset, especially in complex situations with multiple stakeholders.

About Me

With a background in HR and labor expertise, I now have over twenty years of experience in assisting people and organizations in difficult work-related situations. My career started after my Human Resources studies, after which I worked as an HR consultant and HR manager in a variety of sectors - from retail to healthcare and from construction to international companies. I then led teams in Utrecht, Brabant and Gelderland as branch manager at ArboNed.

Mediation came my way when I noticed how often labor conflicts require a neutral, solution-oriented third party. I took courses to become a registered work expert and MfN registered mediator, and combined these expertises in my work for many years. I worked for Result Mediation and, together with some company doctors, I founded a successful regional occupational health and safety service. I now focus entirely on mediation and occupational health and safety advice.

Favorite Mediation Quote

"There will always be a solution."

Proud of

My ability to get to the point quickly in different situations and create overview - so that people regain perspective.

What parties say about me

Clients characterize me as knowledgeable, friendly and solution-oriented. I actively consider alternative routes and quickly switch between perspectives. Fellow mediators also know where to find me to answer questions about WvP and WIA.

Wat is de leukste vraag die je als Mediator gekregen hebt

"So are you more like a judge, or more like a coach?"

A great question, because the answer is right in between. I am not a judge - I do not pass judgment - nor am I a coach who directs people in a certain direction. As a mediator, I help parties regain control and reach decisions they can support together.
