Conflict Prevention Interview(CPG).

Prevent Escalation and Improve Collaboration

The conflict prevention conversation (CPG), a form of "premediation," is the intervention to improve or restore communication and cooperation in non-complex and not yet escalated conflicts. These conversations use a mix of coaching and mediation techniques to address tensions early, without the conflict having to spiral out of control.

When is a conflict prevention interview appropriate?

A CPG is particularly appropriate when mediation is still perceived as too onerous a measure, but there is still a need for guidance in finding a joint solution. This applies to situations where employees, managers or employers are involved in a tense cooperative relationship or an impending labor dispute. A CPG is not appropriate in situations where parties want to part ways.

No formal mediation process required

Unlike traditional mediation, conflict prevention talks do not require a formal MfN procedure. Thus, no mediation agreement needs to be signed in advance, making the threshold lower for parties involved. Our labor mediators are ready to support, but without the formal frameworks involved in mediation.

Benefits of a conflict prevention interview:

  • Approachable: No formal contracts or procedures.
  • Effective: A combination of coaching and mediation techniques for maximum impact.
  • Customized: Aimed at preventing escalation in conflicts that have not yet escalated.
  • Applicable: For all employees, supervisors and employers in strained working relationships.
